About Epupa Falls
The Epupa Falls also referred to as Monte Negro Falls in Angola are created with the aid of the Cunene River on the border of Angola and Namibia, within the Kaokoland vicinity of the Kunene Region. The river is 0.5 km wide and drops in a sequence of waterfalls unfold over 1.5 km, with the greatest unmarried drop being 37 m. The call "Epupa" is a Herero phrase for "foam", in connection with the froth created by using the falling water. Due to the specialized nature of this steep riparian habitat, the Epupa Falls are the locus of endemism for a number of fish and other aquatic species.
Despite being hard to reach, the falls are a main visitor enchantment in Namibia, due to the in large part unspoiled surroundings, with fig timber, baobabs, makalani palms, and colored rock walls framing the falls. The Epupa Constituency is known as for the falls. The Ruacana Falls in northern Namibia are located a hundred thirty five km upstream.
