About Shan State Cultural Museum

The Shan State Cultural Museum, now known as Cultural Museum (Taunggyi), is an exhibition hall situated at Bogyoke Aung San Road and Eintawshay Road, in Taunggyi, Shan State, Myanmar (Burma). This historical center is one of the social exhibition halls under the Department of Archeology and National Museum, Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture, the Republic of the Union of Myanmar. It was built up in 1974. It shows divans, swords, fans, seats utilized by Sawbwa (Shan Chief of previous circumstances), old artworks, coins and conventional outfits of the Shan races.

In the Cultural Museum (Taunggyi), 808 show objects are shown in the four presentation rooms and a sum of 5998 show objects are in the historical center's gathering. It is two storied block building and the show territory is around 11200 square feet. There are four presentation rooms; exhibition room (1), exhibition room (2), exhibition room (3) and exhibition room (4). Through and through 880 ancient rarities are being displayed in the show rooms.

At the focal point of the city, various structures canvassed in the green shade of verdant woodlands can be seen. All finished Taunggyi is secured with fruits, pines and eucalyptus trees. Being a slope city, Taunggyi's climate is said to be a standout amongst the most agreeable all through Myanmar. Taunggyi can best be seen from inflatables flying up high. The most surely understood spots of enthusiasm for Taunggyi are Shan State Cultural Museum and Myoma Market.
