About Pindaya Caves
Pindaya is popular for its limestone. Its alluring lakeside setting and the conventional Shan paper umbrellas that are made here. Set somewhere down in the slopes, the holes some of which fill in as contemplation chambers contain about 6000 Buddhas of different sizes, which are made of white marble, bronze or mortar, and covered with gold leaf. At the passageway to the caverns sits the 15 meters tall Shwe U Min Pagoda.
The hollows are a lovely 45-minute stroll from Pindaya town focus. A decent round outing includes first strolling south along Shwe U Min Pagoda Road, which incorporates an air area going between enormous trees whose trunks and branches weave uncommonly along the ground.
