About Phra Maha Chedi Chai Mongkol
The Phra Maha Chedi Chai Mongkol is one of the biggest chedis pagoda in Thailand. It is situated on the grounds of the Wat Pha Namthip Thep Prasit Vararam, a sanctuary complex in Roi Et area in rustic North Eastern Thailand.
This colossal chedi is 101 meters in length, 101 meters wide and 101 meters high and was based on a plot estimating 101 Rai, which is around 40 sections of land. The number 101 originates from the name of the territory it is situated in, in particular, Roi Et, which implies 101 in Thai. The chedi, which is otherwise called Phra Maha Chedi Chai Mongkhon is exceptionally adored in Roi Et region since relics of the Buddha are contained in the highest point of the pagoda.
