About Alodaw Pauk Pagoda
Alodaw Pauk Pagoda is situated in Nampan Village, Nyaung Shwe Township, southern Shanstate. It was one of the most seasoned holy places on Inle Lake, remains on stilts, worked by King Thri Dhamma. The pagoda was first named by the Innphaya Pagoda, after that it changed to Yadana Pagoda lastly Alodaw Pagoda as it is currently.
This stupa reveres a jewel-encrusted Shan-style Buddha. It is one of 84000 pagodas worked by King Thiri Dhamma Thawka. As per legend, King Alaungsithu remade the pagoda revering the jeweled bowl, a stone from the mists, another stone acquired from the ivories, a pearl, all sort of adornments, four gold statues and seven silver statues. Later on, King Narapatisithu revamped it again and included 15 silver statues and seven gems. Every one of them is as yet in place today.
