Medina of Marrakesh

It is an old Islamic capital starting from the eleventh century. It is encased by 16km of defenses and doors. Established in 1070– 72 by the Almoravids, Marrakesh remained a political, monetary and social place for a long stretch. Its impact was felt all through the western Muslim world, from North Africa to Andalusia.
It has a few amazing landmarks dating from that period: the Koutoubiya Mosque, the Kasbah, the bastions, grand entryways, gardens, and so on. The city owes its unique wonder to the Almoravide and Almohade traditions eleventh - thirteenth hundreds of years, who made Marrakech into their capital.
