American Legation

The Tangier American Legation is a building in the medina of Tangier, Morocco. The main American open property outside the United States, it recognizes the noteworthy social and political relations between the United States and the Kingdom of Morocco. It is currently authoritatively called the Tangier American Legation Institute for Moroccan Studies, and is a social focus, exhibition hall, and an exploration library, focusing on Arabic dialect ponders. The legation was recorded on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places on January 8, 1981. U.S. Secretary of the Interior James G. Watt in this manner assigned it a National Historic Landmark on December 17, 1982.
