About Exotic Garden of Monaco

The Jardin Exotique de Monaco French for "Exotic garden of Monaco" is a professional garden situated on a cliffside in Monaco. The succulent plants were brought once again from Mexico in the late 1860s. By 1895, Augustin Gastaud, who filled in as the Chief Gardener of the State Gardens of Monaco, developed the succulents in the Jardin St Martin.

Albert I, Prince of Monaco gained a land parcel in Les Moneghetti in 1912. He charged Louis Notari, the Chief Engineer of Monaco, to manufacture another garden with footbridges. Amid the development, Notari found a cavern underneath in 1916. In the interim, the garden was committed in 1933. Monegasque agronomist Louis Vatrican filled in as its first chief from 1933 to 1969. He added African succulents to the current South African plants.

After he resigned in 1969, he was prevailing by Marcel Kroenlein. The cave was opened to the general population in 1950, yet it might just be chatted with specific aides. Proof of ancient human occupants has been found in the give in. There is a museum of Prehistoric Anthropology inside the Exotic Garden showing a large number of those ancient remains. It was established by Prince Albert I in 1902.
