Tepalcingo

Tepalcingo is a town in the Mexican province of Morelos. The name Nahuatl root tekpa-tl rock, tzintli spares respect, tzinco back of an individual, so in whole it implies tekpatzinko "down or behind the stones". Tepalcingo points of confinement toward the north with Ayala and Jonacatepec; toward the south with Tlaquiltenango and the State of Puebla; toward the east with Axochiapan and Jonacatepec; toward the west with Ayala and Tlaquiltenango. It is 1,160 meters above ocean level. The city fills in as the civil seat for the encompassing region, with which it shares a name. It announced 27,187 inhabitants in the 2015 evaluation.

It is trusted that in 1272, Mixtec ladies, men, and kids who split far from Iloala present-day Iguala Guerrero established the town of Tepalcingo. Remains accepted to have a place with the Pueblo Viejo, situated in the slopes of Zopiloapan, west of current Tepalcingo, have been found. Tepalcingo was later conquored by the Aztecs in 1445, when it was liable to Huaxtepec Oaxtepec. After the Conquest of Mexico, Tepalcingo paid tribute straightforwardly to the Spanish crown until 1532 when it was fused in the terrains of Hernan Cortes when it ended up subject to Yecapichtlan Yecapixtla.

Martín Cortes, child of the conquistador, confronted an autonomy battle of individuals who did not have any desire to be subjects of the marquisate, and from 1565 Tepalcingo was incorporated into what is known as the Tlalnahuac, a gathering of fifteen towns south of Yecapixtla. Cortes picked up ownership of the grounds in 1587, after which they go to the Dukes of Terranova and afterward the Dukes of Monteleone.
