Tenayuca
About Tenayuca
Tenayuca is a pre-Columbian Mesoamerican archeological site in the Valley of Mexico. In the Postclassic time of Mesoamerican sequence, Tenayuca was a settlement on the previous shoreline of the western arm of Lake Texcoco. It was found around 10 kilometers toward the northwest of Tenochtitlan the core of present-day Mexico City. Tenayuca is viewed as the most punctual capital city of the Chichimec, traveling clans who moved and settled in the Valley of Mexico, where they shaped their very own kingdoms. The pyramid of Tenayuca is situated in San Bartolo Tenayuca in Tlalnepantla de Baz, in Mexico State. It falls inside the urban spread of Greater Mexico City.
By some historiographic conventions Tenayuca had been established 1224 by Xolotl, a semi-unbelievable leader of a "Chichimec" clan that had settled in the Valley of Mexico in the period some time after the 12th century breakdown of the previous political authority in the Valley — the purported Toltec realm, exuding from Tula. Xolotl was prevailing by Nopaltzin who united the Chichimec Kingdom. Anyway archeological stays recuperated from Tenayuca demonstrate that the site had just been involved in the Classic Period, some time before this primary occasion portrayed in a few of the Mesoamerican verifiable archives. Its population expanded in the early Postclassic and kept on expanding after the fall of Tula, when Tenayuca turned into a significant territorial power.
