There were two fights in the hacienda of Temixco in 1914. The first was on May 26, when the Zapatistas had the option to take the hacienda, and the second was toward the beginning of June when the Zapatistas utilized the hacienda as an organizing ground for the Siege of Cuernavaca. In 1915, when the Zapatistas assumed responsibility for Mexico City, they appropriated all the destroyed liquor refineries. In 1921 Temixco was raised to the class of "Congregacion" and the town took the name Real de Temixco. It was a piece of the region of Cuernavaca. The Ejido de Temixco was framed in 1924.
