About Saltillo Cathedral
The St. James Cathedral or Saltillo Cathedral is the catholic house of God of the city of Saltillo in Mexico. It is situated in the authentic focal point of the city, inverse the Plaza de Armas, one of the engineering gems of the territory of Coahuila. It is the tallest church in the north of Mexico, and one of the most astounding in the nation.
Raised to the side of the first area, in the year 1745, by the minister Felipe Suarez de Estrada, under the task of Nicolas Hernandez, the new sanctuary of more noteworthy extents was not completed until 1800. With the erection of the Diocese of Saltillo on June 23, 1891, by a bull made by Pope Leo XIII , the sanctuary is assigned as the site of this, and is conceded the position of house of God. The pinnacle started in the year 1883. Later as it was called house of prayer venture to the church building name in the year 1951.
