About Puerto Escondido
Puerto Escondido is a small port and tourist center within the municipality of San Pedro Mixtepec Distrito 22 in the Mexican nation of Oaxaca. Prior to the 1930s, there has been no metropolis. The bay have been used as a port intermittently to ship espresso, but there was no permanent agreement because of the shortage of potable water. The name "Puerto Escondido" had roots in the legend of a girl who escaped her captors and concealed here. The Nahuatl phrase for this area turned into Zicatela, that means “region of large thorns". Today, it refers back to the place’s maximum well-known beach.
Puerto Escondido is one of the most vital traveler sights at the Oaxacan coast. It caters to a more downscale and eclectic customers than neighboring Huatulco, typically surfers, backpackers and Mexican households. The foremost points of interest are the beaches: Zicatela Beach hosts predominant browsing competitions, whilst different beaches have gentle waves. A huge lagoon location to the west of the town is popular for fishing and birdwatching.
