About Ocosingo
Ocosingo is a city and its encompassing district municipio of a similar name in the Mexican province of Chiapas. The district fringes the Usumacinta River along a bit where the waterway frames the universal outskirt with Guatemala. Starting at 2010, the district had an all out population of 198,877, up from 170,280 starting at 2005. Starting at 2010, the city of Ocosingo had a population of 41,878, up from 35,065 starting at 2005. Other than the city of Ocosingo, the district had 1,387 territories.
Ocosingo was given city status on 31 July 1979. A few outstanding Maya archeological destinations are adjacent, including Bonampak and Tonina. Ocosingo rose to national unmistakable quality amid the Zapatista uprising of 1994. It was involved by the EZLN alongside a few different towns in Chiapas counting San Cristobal. The EZLN withdrew from most towns before the entry of the Mexican armed force however not so in Ocosingo. Along these lines, the town saw a few days of extreme battling, leaving many agitators, officers and regular folks dead.
