About Oaxaca
Oaxaca, formally the Free and Sovereign State of Oaxaca, is one of the 31 states which, along with Mexico City, make up the 32 federative entities of Mexico. It is split into 570 municipalities, of which 418 are governed with the aid of the system of usos y costumbres with identified neighborhood varieties of self-governance. Its capital city is Oaxaca de Juarez. Oaxaca is positioned in Southeastern Mexico. It is bordered via the states of Guerrero to the west, Puebla to the northwest, Veracruz to the north, Chiapas to the east. To the south, Oaxaca has a significant shoreline on the Pacific Ocean. The state is quality recognized for its indigenous peoples and cultures.
The most numerous and fine known are the Zapotecs and the Mixtecs, but there are sixteen which are formally diagnosed. These cultures have survived higher than most others in Mexico due to the state's rugged and separating terrain. Most stay within the Central Valleys vicinity, which is likewise an economically critical place for tourism, with people attracted for its archeological web sites inclusive of Monte Alban, and Mitla, and its various native cultures and crafts.
