Muna

Muna Municipality is one of the 106 municipalities in the Mexican kingdom of Yucatán containing of land and is located more or less 50 km south of the town of Merida. There is no accurate facts on whilst the metropolis become founded, though it existed earlier than the conquest, as part of the chieftainship of Tutul Xiu. At colonization, Muna became a part of the encomienda gadget. The areas encompassing Muna and Dzan Municipality had been joined for a time in the course of the encomienda machine. The first encomendero was Castilla in 1549 and it then exceeded to Alonso Rosado and Diego Rosado.

By 1607 the encomendero became Pedro Rosado. In 1625, the trusteeship exceeded to Diego de Jauregui and Francisca Rosado and in 1629 to Sebastian de Mendoza and Diego de Mendoza. Yucatan d its independence from the Spanish Crown in 1821, and in 1825 the place turned into assigned to the low sierra partition of Mama Municipality. In 1867 it became transferred to the Ticul Municipality and showed as its very own municipality in 1988.
