Mier

Mier, head of the municipality of Mier, is a metropolis inside the Mexican country of Tamaulipas, placed on the border among the USA and Mexico and near the Falcon Dam, in the northeast of the nation. Since 2007 it has the title of Magic Town, granted through the Tourism Secretariat of Mexico. It has a place of 888.35 rectangular kilometers, 1.3 percent of the entire nation.

It borders at the north with the municipality of Guerrero; to the south and west with the State of Nuevo León and to the east with the US and with the municipality of Miguel Aleman. Its municipal seat is located at coordinates 26º25'44 "north latitude and 99º08'fifty five" west longitude, at a top of 80 meters above sea stage and has 43 places. What nowadays is Ciudad Mier changed into based on March 6, 1753 by using Jose de Escandon with the name of Villa del Paso del Cantaro and that later might end up called the Estancia de Mier. It become founded by means of nine households from the village of Camargo and 10 families from Cerralvo, with 19 families dwelling in Mier; changed into d metropolis in 1871, being governor of the Servando Canales Molano kingdom.
