Kanasin

Kanasin Municipality is one of the 106 municipalities within the Mexican state of Yucatan containing of land and placed roughly five km east of the town of Merida. It is unknown which chieftainship the vicinity turned into underneath previous to the advent of the Spanish. After the conquest the location became a part of the encomienda device. One of the primary encomenderos turned into Francisco Sosa, with 209 Indians in his rate. Later it surpassed to Josefa Diaz Bolio, who had care of 211 Indians and then to reverend Sister Maria Josefa, with a hundred and fifty five Indians.

Yucatan d its independence from the Spanish Crown in 1821 and in 1825, Kanasín changed into established as head of its own municipality. The municipal president is elected for a three-year term. The city council has nine councilpersons, who function Secretary and councilors of policing and neighborhoods, public works, health and ecology, training, tradition and sports, public monuments, parks and gardens, transportation, and nomenclature.
