Ixtlan del Rio

Ixtlan del Rio is a municipality positioned inside the southeast of the State of Nayarit. It has been referred to as the door of our State, considering each visitor who goes to any point of the northwest, or travels to the middle of the Republic, passes thru this town. To the north it borders the municipality of Jala, to the northwest with La Yesca, serving because the natural boundary of the Santiago; to the east and southeast with the country of Jalisco, the circulation of San Antonio being in large part among Jalisco and Ixtlan Del Rio.

To the southwest it limits with the municipality of Amatlan de Canas and to the west with Ahuacatlan.
