About Ixtlan
Ixtlan is a town and region in the Mexican province of Oaxaca around 65 km north of the city of Oaxaca on Federal Highway 175 towards Veracruz. It is a piece of the Ixtlan District in the Sierra Norte de Oaxaca locale. The town of Ixtlan existed before the Spanish Conquest of Mexico. It is thought to have been established in the last half of the 15th century, by Zapotec individuals from the area around Tarabundi and San Pedro Laduu. The main pioneers were likely warriors building up a protective station against Aztec intruders. A portion of different networks in the region are presumably a few centuries more seasoned than the town of Ixtlan.
San Pablo Guelatao, the origination of Benito Juarez, lies 4 km from the town of Ixtlan and at the season of his introduction to the world fell inside its locale, so Juarez was immersed in the congregation of St Thomas in Ixtlan; consequently his name has been added to that of the town in 1824, be that as it may, Guelatao announced itself autonomous of Ixtlan, and it remains a free district. The option of Juarez's name fills the extra need of recognizing the town from the numerous different Ixtlans in Mexico: the name is typically professed to originated from Aztec words signifying "place where there is the maguey", and utilization of the maguey also called the century plant was broad in pre-Columbian Mexico. An option proposed inference is from Mixtec words signifying "spot of obsidian", and the town utilizes a logo that portrays an item made of obsidian.
