Ixil

Ixil Municipality is one of the 106 municipalities within the Mexican kingdom of Yucatan containing of land and positioned roughly 25 km north of the city of Merida. The municipal president is elected for a term of 3 years. The president appoints Councilpersons to serve at the board for 3 12 months phrases, as the Secretary and councilors of public works, security, cemeteries, nomenclature, parks and public gardens, street lighting fixtures and public health. The Municipal Council administers the commercial enterprise of the municipality. It is accountable for budgeting and prices and producing all required reports for all branches of the municipal management. Annually it determines academic standards for colleges. The Police Commissioners ensure public order and protection.

They are tasked with implementing guidelines, dispensing materials and administering rulings of widespread compliance issued through the council. In 1821, Yucatan become d impartial of the Spanish Crown. In 1905, Ixil belonged to the Coastal area situated in Izamal. In 1850, Ixil withdrew from the coastal area and have become aligned with Tixkokob. In 1918, it have become head of its very own municipality and turned into separated from Tixkokob.
