Hermosillo Cathedral
About Hermosillo Cathedral
The Cathedral of the Assumption remains as the essential church of the Diocese of Hermosillo and its neoclassical outline with neogothic components is an image ordinarily used to speak to the Sonoran capital of Hermosillo. A littler church based on the site in the 1700's was torn down to account for a congregation that would oblige bigger gatherings. Development of the Hermosillo Cathedral, as it is generally known, started in 1887. The house of prayer was initiated in 1908, despite the fact that the domed vault was not finished until 1963. The Diocese of Hermosillo is managed by Archbishop Monsenor Ruy Rendon Leal, who was introduced by Pope Francis on April 26, 2016.
House of prayer ministers are Parish Priest Pbro. Martin Gerardo Hernandez Moreno, Vicar Pbro. Marco Vinicio Felix Del Castillo and Deacon Isidoro Rodriguez Arroyo. Hermosillo Cathedral or the Assumption Cathedral stands 30 meters tall as the main church of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Hermosillo and a standout amongst the most meaningful structures of the Mexican city of Hermosillo. Before the genuine building was worked, there was a littler house of prayer, worked in the eighteenth century. The present structure must be worked as the past building was too little for the gathering. The building was bolstered by the then Bishop Herculano Lopez de la Mora, and was blessed in 1908 while still incomplete. The vault was finished in 1963.
