El Triunfo
About El Triunfo
El Triunfo is a town in La Paz Municipality, Baja California Sur, Mexico, about 4.5 miles north of San Antonio. The town is situated at a rise of 483 meters above ocean level and has a population of 327. It is a previous mining town. The main mine in El Triunfo was built up by Manuel de Ocio in the late 1700s. Responsibility for mine was briefly exchanged to the Spanish Crown at a certain point. Be that as it may, the mine remained to a great extent ineffective until 1878, where responsibility for mine was exchanged.
In 1862, silver and gold were found in the southern Baja California Sur mountains, driving excavators from Mexico and the United States to hurry to settle in El Triunfo in a dash for unheard of wealth. A significant number of the diggers had taken an interest in the 1849 California dash for unheard of wealth. In 1878, the mine was taken over by the British El Progreso Mining Company and turned out to be progressively effective. When the biggest city in Baja California Sur, it was home to in excess of 10,000 excavators. In its prime the town was a social focus, where Francisca Mendoza educated and performed. El Triunfo was the main town in the area to introduce power and phones.
