Chiapilla

Chiapilla is a municipality within the Mexican nation of Chiapas, belonging to Region I. Its municipal seat is the town of the same call. It limits to the north with the municipality of San Lucas, to the south with Totolapa and to the east with San Cristobal de Las Casas, to the west with Acala. Chiapilla turned into known as the little Chiapa.

The origins of Chiapilla go again to pre Hispanic instances; it's far believed that it become based via the Chiapanecas at the banks of the Rio Grande. By 1860 the primitive settlement was moved to an immediate plateau a bit better than 3 kilometers to the north, consistent with the priest who tried to bless the new temple, since the preceding one become already abandoned. In 1888, the first of March, it was completed and opened a masonry bridge over the river Frio. In 1911, and due to disputes between inhabitants of San Cristobal and Tuxtla, in line with the president of Acala, a collection of supporters of San Cristobal launched themselves on the municipal presidency in order to region Patricio Gordillo, a supporter, in the front of her.
