About Bolonchen
Bolonchen or Bolonchen de Rejon is a town in the Mexican province of Campeche, around 120 km East from the state capital, Campeche, in Hopelchen Municipality. Starting at 2010 the town had a population of 3,975 individuals. A short separation toward the south of Bolonchen are found the caverns of Xtacunbilxunan.
The name "Bolonchen" signifies "Nine Wells" in the Maya language, and "de Rejon" honors Manuel Crescencio Rejon, a legal counselor who helped draft the 1917 Constitution and who was brought into the world here. Already, the Pueblo was named Bolonchenticul. It was renamed in September 1955 to Balonchen de Rejon. It is additionally the origin of Olegario Molina y Solis, the Governor of Yucatan and Minister de Fomento in the Porfirio Diaz era 1877– 1911. In 1833, it was the main pueblo to get away from the cholera pestilence. This was because of the endeavors of Julian Molina y Bastante Olegario's granddad and the siblings Martinez.
