Ayotzintepec

Ayotzintepec is a populace of the northeast of the Mexican state of Oaxaca, positioned within the denominated Region of the Papaloapan, is head of the municipality of the equal call. There are no reliable sources at the beginning of the city of Ayotzintepec, but, this population is already registered in the 1910 Census with ranch popularity and a populace of 308 inhabitants, at that time belonged to the municipality of Ozumacin, whose head is the modern day locality of San Pedro Ozumacin, remote about 10 kilometers from Ayotzintepec, the Census of 1921 canceled the city to remember it uninhabited, however, in the 1930 it became restored this time receiving the call of Los Llanos de Ayotzintepec.

At the beginning of the last decade of 1940 serious conflicts happened in the population of San Pedro Osumacin that culminated with the suppression of the municipality by using decree of September 26, 1941 and its annexation to the municipality of San Juan Bautista Valle Nacional, however much less than year later, on June 12, 1942, decree no. 222 of the Congress of Oaxaca restored the antique municipality but pointing this time as the pinnacle of the populace of Ayotzintepec and giving this name to the municipality, remaining on this way till today.
