About Manoel Theatre

The Manoel Theater is a theater and vital performing expressions setting in Malta. The auditorium is frequently alluded to as essentially "The Manoel", and is named after Grand Master of the Order of the Knights Hospitaller, Fra Antonio Manoel de Vilhena, who requested its development in 1731. The performance center is rumored to be Europe's third-most established working theater more seasoned than the San Carlo in Naples, and the most seasoned venue still in activity in the Commonwealth of Nations.

The performance center is situated on Old Theater Street in Valletta. It thinks about itself as the nation's national theater and the home of Malta Philharmonic Orchestra. Originally called the Teatro Pubblico, its name was changed to Teatro Reale, or Theater Royal, in 1812, and renamed Manoel Theater in 1866. The main play to be performed was Maffei's Merope. The venue is a little, 623 seat scene, with an oval-formed assembly hall, three levels of boxes developed altogether of wood, enlivened with gold leaf, and a light blue trompe-l'oeil roof that takes after a round dome. The building is a Grade 1 recorded working as substantiated by Malta's Superintendence of Cultural Heritage, and is likewise booked by the Malta Environment and Planning Authority MEPA.
