The exhibition is about the Kedah Sultan Abdul Halim ibni Almarhum Sultan Badlishah. The display building was initially developed in November 1922. It was then utilized as a high court working until June 2005 when it was migrated to the Court Complex at Suka Menanti Street. The building was changed over into the display in 2007 with a cost of MYR16 million.
The building was initially outlined by planner F. W. Swim and developed by H. W. Fofden with old Roman engineering. Amid the change procedure to make it as the display, the planner was Rusman and the development contractual workers were Seri Temin Development Corporation M Bhd. for building outside works, Azam Hias KL Sdn. Bhd. for building inside works and Syarikat Mariwasa Kraftangan Sdn. Bhd. for display relics works.
