Sam Poh Tong Cave Temple

Sam Poh Tong Cave Temple is a famous Chinese Buddhist temple built within a limestone cave. It is the oldest and the most famous cave temples in Ipoh, Perak, Malaysia and contains art work such as a reclining Buddha figure. It is located about 5 km from Ipoh on the southern edge of Ipoh. Perak Tong has the more interesting cave interior but Sam Poh Tong has the better gardens.

It has other interesting cave temples right next door. It is one of the largest cave temple in Malaysia and contains art work such as a reclining Buddha figure and an impressive work of art with ious statues of Buddha. The temple also offers guests the chance to release turtles into its turtle pond as a course of balancing one's karma.
