Red Square - Dutch Square

Dutch Square is surrounded by red painted buildings. It describes the history of Melaka including, the British colonization, the Dutch administration, and the Chinese settlers. The Portuguese traces remain at A Famosa. But you can see some ruins of Portuguese fortress on the bank of River Melaka across the Square. This is what you will like about Red Square is the atmosphere like a carnival square where you find many tourists and locals like those from ious other states of Malaysia.

This area is extremely photogenic so make sure your camera battery is fully charged. The hustle and bustle of the tourists posing and snapping photos; those souvenirs shops crowded with souvenirs hunters are so overwhelming. Not to forget the vibrant colorful trishaws enticing tourists with blaring hit songs.
