About Lumut
Lumut is a beach front town populace 31,880 in Manjung District, Perak, Malaysia, arranged around 84 km from Ipoh, 12 km from the town of Sitiawan and it is the fundamental door to Pangkor Island before built up Marina Island as second entryway. It is noted for seashell and coral painstaking work. This once little-known angling town has since turned into the command post of the Royal Malaysian Navy and the site of the greatest maritime shipbuilder in Malaysia, Boustead Naval Shipyard.
Lumut in Malay means greenery, lichen, or ocean growth. In its initial days, the shoreline was said to be wealthy in greenery, so the nearby individuals called it Lumut. Lumut wharf is the arranging off point to seaward islands, including Pangkor Island and Marina Island. Lumut has a shielded wharf. An extensive Hock Chew people group moved from that point to Sitiawan. The estuary was some time ago portrayed by clammy overgrown soils on rosy earth. Tin and wood were transported there by elephants and sampans, from as far away as Kinta. It was once part of the Straits Settlements by temperance of the Pangkor Treaty of 1874 until the point that it was come back to Perak by Great Britain in 1935.
