About Kota Kuala Kedah
The Kuala Kedah Fort or Kuala Bahang post is arranged at the northern shore of the Kedah stream. It was worked as a security for the territory of Kedah and its capital, Alor Star. The fortification was worked in 1771 amid Sultan Muhammad Jiwa's reign and was finished in 1780. The plan of the fortress was finished by Hafiz Sab, who was then concealing the post of Dato' Maharaja Kadhi. Different creators were acquired from India. Passage was worked in the northern piece of the post confronting Alor Melaka which was called "Pintu Gerbang Kadapun" The Kadapun Gateway.
The stronghold has survived assaults by the Bugis, Achechnese and the Siamese. In 1909, when Kedah was authoritatively under British lead, a couple of government workplaces was worked inside the region of the fortification, including a beacon. Another entryway was assembled which exists right up 'til the present time. Amid the Japanese occupation in the Malay States, the stronghold was utilized as their Armed Forces' base camp until their annihilation in the hands of the British in 1945.
