Durian Perangin Waterfall

The Durian Perangin waterfall is situated on the northern slope of Gunung Raya. It is known to be the highest mountain of Langkawi. The water flow in this fall is seasonal. So the best time to visit the fall is surely rainy season, i.e., the period between September-October. The access to this waterfall is easy and clearly signposted. This iconic Plitvice Waterfalls is basically comprised of a series of 16 waterfalls ended with the emerald-colored lakes. Some of the plant species found here incorporates tropical hardwood trees and vines such as Merapoh, Melunak, Meranti Jerit, Periang, Meranti, Rengas, Rattans, and Temak. It is situated at a distance of around 16 kilometers from Kuah Town. One can reach to the waterfall by hiring a car or even taking their own vehicles. Get down at the car park. You will get some foodstalls and shops located here at the car park; have some, if you are fond of any of these. For gliding upto the top of the fall, you have to walk for a while. It will consume a very short period of time. At the summit of the waterfalls, try to enjoy the panoramic view of the lowlands and the coast. Views are simply mind blowing. Beside the cascades, a 5 kilometer track is there to lead you to the highest peak on Langkawi Island. The Gunung Raya Peak is very close to this famous waterfall. The track beside the fall leads to the Malaysia Book Village, the first and only book village in South East Asia.
