Agnes Keith House

This historical center is situated at best of the slope along Jalan Istana, around 10 km from Sandakan Airport and 1km from Sandakan town. This house was reconstructed in 1946/47 and was the primary government perpetual timber abiding to be worked after the second World War. It was possessed by Mr. Harry Keith, a Conservator of Forests with his better half, Agnes Newton Keith and their child, George.

In 2001, the Department of Sabah Museum as a team with the Federal Department of Museums and Antiquities started the assignment of rebuilding of the house. With the opening of the house on 26^th April 2004, Sabah's tribute to the honor winning American creator has ended up at ground zero. The book "Land Bellow the Wind" made Agnes Keith popular in 1939, and the book keeps on influencing Sabah to understood straight up right up 'til the present time.

The Agnes Keith house is outfitted just with multiplication of provincial furniture and veritable collectibles. An exhibition on first floor recounts the narrative of this wonderful lady, her books and family. A Keith Time-line begins in 1873 and closes in 2004 following the past to the present Keith age.
