Lake Anosy
About Lake Anosy
Lake Anosy is an artificial lake in the southern part of the capital city of Madagascar, Antananarivo, about two miles south of Haute-Ville. Ampefiloha is situated toward the west of the lake, Isoraka toward the northwest and Mahamasina toward the north. A marsh was supplanted with Lake Anosy amid the period of the ruler Radama I. The lake was developed by James Cameron who gave it a state of a heart. Amidst the lake there is an island associated with the city by an isthmus. You can come to visit, explore and experience this place more.
On the island there is a French-manufactured dedication to those fallen in the principal world war, the Monument aux Morts made by stone worker Barberis and draftsman Perrin in 1927. In the Radama I period there was an explosive plant on the island. Later there was assembled a mid year living arrangement for the Queen Ranavalona I. By the lakeside there develop jacaranda trees that bloom in October and November. Awesome egrets use to take a rest by the lake. By the southern shore there are hairdressers' booths. On the national autonomy day, June 26, a yearly firecracker celebration is orchestrated on the lake.
