Andafiavaratra Palace

The Andafiaatra Palace, also known as the Prime Minister's Palace, is located north of the Queen's Palace in Antananarivo. Andafiaatra truly implies confronting north. It worked as the castle of the PM amid the rules of the last rulers. The first castle was worked by wood under the supervision of Queen Ranavalona I. In 1872, this wooden royal residence was supplanted by the present castle as per the plans of British designer William Pool. In the focal point of the 3-story royal residence there is an extensive party room which is lit up by a glass vault.

Every one of the four corner towers incorporate a chime tower. From 1864 to 1895 the royal residence was the living arrangement of leader Rainilaiarivony, who wedded three rulers and excersised extreme power from that point. After Madagascar ended up autonomous, the royal residence was utilized as armed force military enclosure, court, school of expressive arts, presidential castle lastly again as the PM's office. In 1976 the castle burned to the ground. After some incredible rebuilding it houses today a presentation of valuable things which were spared from the fire of the Rova in 1995, for example, the red coat of Radama I, the illustrious coral gems, different regal pictures and the diadem of the last ruler.
