Petrusse Casemates

The Casemates have a place with the UNESCO World Heritage. They began when the Spanish were modernizing medieval works and building expansive bastions, for example, that of the Beck, whose stage is possessed by the present Place de la Constitution Square.

But at its commencement, this fortress was not the stature it is today.The stage was arranged at an indistinguishable range from the neighboring second bulwark on the right the patio which used to become the terrific staircase.

For resistance purposes, this stage was surmounted by a high handed, a tall brickwork structure which filled in as a place for a couple of guns and whose parapet was at the level of the present Bouled Roosevelt. In 1673, the Spanish raised the Ravelin an old term indicating a half-moon of the Pâté, proposed to fortify the Beck Bastion.
