About Visit Al-Omari Mosque
A very famous in itself, Al-Omari Mosque encloses Sahet an- Nejmeh at the mid of Beirut. It is very old in comparison to Hariri Mosque that is placed south-east of the square. While looking at it more closely, you will notice that it is less assuming, has darker interiors, lower ceilings that make it look like much more quintessential of Ottoman mosques. The mens section of the mosque is relatively very small, but also has a small number of imposing chandeliers and calligraphy paintings on the top. But, womens section, being smaller in size to that of mens, but is still admirably adorned. Further, you may find similarity in its structural designing to that of Ottoman structures. It is a typical Islamic mosque so you are very much required to enter with covered faces with barefoot. Capture every memorable moment in your camera as photography is very much allowed inside but make you that you do not do anything which is against Islam.
