About Gibran Museum- Monastery of Mar Sarkis
Gibran Museum is situated in Besharre. It is popular as the birth place of great Lebanese poet Khalil Gibran, author of The Prophet. He was really a very talented artist and a celebrated author of 16 books, written in English and Arabic. Astonishingly, he is acknowledged for The Prophet, which has been translated into over 30 languages. Just all because of his artistic contributions which have been instrumental, Bcsharre has resulted in increasing Lebanon tourism. The Gibran Museum is a biographical museum, and was previously identified as the Monastery of Mar Sarkis. It is positioned 120kms away from Beirut and houses 440 original drawings and paintings of Gibran and his tomb. While covering each and every corner of the Gibran Museum, you may get excited to see furniture of his times, private manuscripts, and belongings from his work studio. However, in 1931, owing to the spiritual relevance, the composition which is a home to his museum and tomb, was further bought by his sister at his request. Further, you may also think that Gibran was much of a painter as a poet and a writer as he learnt art in Paris. Last nut not least, Gibrans casket is also kept for the members of public together with his favorite assets. Buy postcards, books written on Khalil Gibrans work, etc. as a keepsake of your trip to Gibran Museum.
