Bsharri is a city at an altitude of approximately 1,450 m to a 5,088 m. It is located inside the Bsharri District of the North Governorate in Lebanon. Bsharri is the city of the only closing and preserved unique Cedars of Lebanon, and is the birthplace of the well-known poet, painter and sculptor Khalil Gibran who now has a museum inside the town to honour him. The site of the Holy Kadisha Valley shelters some of the most historic Christian monastic communities of the Middle East, and Qurnat as Sawda Mountain in Bsharri is the highest top within the Levant, at 3,088 meters above sea level.
Moreover, Bsharri is domestic to the oldest snowboarding location, the Cedars Ski Resort, and to Lebanon’s first ski elevate, constructed in 1953.
