About Al-Omari Grand Mosque
It is a standout amongst the most antiquated structures of the city. The place has been delightfully safeguarded and this is one of the two mosques that have a place in the thirteenth century. This mosque was made on the vestiges and stays of a Byzantine church. The congregation was of St. John, which was initially developed by the Crusaders.
There are numerous confirmations which toss light on the way that this place had a Roman sanctuary before the congregation was fabricated. The place finishes the multi-religious pat of Beirut. The place was again recreated by the Muslims of Beirut after the Islamic success Al-Fath-Islam. This was battled amid the rule of second Caliph Omar Bin Khattab. The Muslims made the place their own particular religious site and from that time the mosque is remaining there.
