About Yoshimi Hundred Caves

Yoshimi Hundred Caves is a bunch of Kofun period graves delved in fake collapses a tuff precipice of situated in Yoshimi, Saitama, in the northern Kanta area of Japan. It was assigned as a National Historic Site on March 7, 1923. The Schistostega greenery developing at the site was likewise assigned as a Natural Monument of Japan on November 30, 1928.

The bluff is situated on the Yoshimi Hills, which interfaces with the Hiki Hills toward the north. Most include a raised structure inside the interior chamber, which may have initially held pine boxes or the collections of those entombed, and a few chambers have numerous platforms, demonstrating that the internment chamber were utilized for various internments. The doorways to the caverns seem to have previously been hindered by schist chunks.

The site is mostly open to the general population and contains two galleries. One is the Yoshimi Town Archeological Museum, which shows a portion of the ancient rarities found just as different things from the encompassing zone. The other is a neighborhood history historical center with a diorama of Sengoku period Matsuyama Castle, which once existed on the summit of an adjacent slope.
