Umi Jigoki is one of the eight hot springs of Beppu Jigoku meguri visit. The hot spring highlights a lake of exceptional, cobalt blue water, made by the blast of Mount Tsurumi 300 years prior. The remarkable blue hued water is the thing that gives it the name "umi," which signifies "ocean" in Japanese, yet the temperature of the hot spring water is high, around 98 degrees Celsius. This heated water is cooled and utilized for ashi-yu, where you splash just your feet into hot spring water. The office of ashi-yu is roofed with the goal that you can appreciate it even on a blustery day. The office is completely wheelchair open as it is totally outfitted with handrails.

The office has an eatery where you can make the most of Oita's claims to fame like dangojiru, Japanese dumpling soup, or toriten, tempura of chicken just as chanpon noodles with onsen-tamago eggs steamed with hot spring water, a prominent menu among travelers.
