About Ueda
Ueda is a metropolis located in Nagano Prefecture, Japan. As of 1 October 2016, the city had an envisioned population of 155,664, and a population density of 282 folks according to km2. Its total vicinity is 552.04 rectangular kilometres, which makes it the fifth largest metropolis in Nagano Prefecture in phrases of location. Ueda is placed in former Shinano Province and during the Nara period was the provincial capital. The ruins of the Shinano Kokubunji are also to be located inside Ueda.
However, the provincial capital became shifted to Matsumoto at some point of the early Heian period. During the Sengoku length, the location changed into the centre of the effective Sanada extended family. During the Edo duration, Ueda become a fort town and headquarters of Ueda Domain under the Tokugawa shogunate. During the post-Meiji recovery cadastral reform of April 1, 1889, the modern town of Ueda become mounted. Ueda was extended to city popularity on May 1, 1919. On March 6, 2006, Ueda absorbed the neighbouring cities of Maruko and Sanada, and the village of Takeshi all from Chiisagata District.
