About Sakai
Sakai is a city situated in Osaka Prefecture, Japan on the edge of Osaka Bay at the mouth of the Yamato River. It has been one of the biggest and most essential seaports of Japan since the Medieval time. Following the February 2005 extension of the town of Mihara from Minamikawachi District, the city developed to the fourteenth most crowded city in Japan, with 833,544 occupants as of January 1, 2018. The present city was legitimately established on April 1, 1889 as per the laws of Imperial Japan. Sakai turned into an assigned city in April 2006 giving it a more noteworthy measure of self-assurance in legislative issues. It is partitioned into seven regions.
Sakai is known for its keyhole-formed internment hills, or kofun, which date from the fifth century. The biggest of these, Daisen Kofun, is accepted to be the grave of the Emperor Nintoku and is the biggest grave on the planet by territory. Once known for samurai swords, Sakai is presently well known for the nature of its kitchen blades; most excellent Japanese cutlery begins in Sakai, and its generation is a noteworthy industry in the city.
