About Ninna-ji

Ninnaji is one of the numerous awesome sanctuaries in Kyoto which are recorded as World Heritage Sites. It is the head sanctuary of the Omuro School of the Shingon organization of Buddhism and was established in 888 by the prevailing sovereign. Over numerous hundreds of years, an individual from the Imperial Family used to fill in as Ninnaji's head minister, and the sanctuary was otherwise called Omuro Imperial Palace.

Ninnaji is likewise popular for a forest of privately developed, late sprouting cherry trees called Omuro Cherries. Since the trees are late sprouting, Ninnaji is a decent place to visit towards the finish of Kyoto's cherry bloom season, which is generally around mid April.
