About Nakatajima Sand Dunes
Nakatajima Sand Dunes are situated at the southern piece of Hamamatsu, Shizuoka Prefecture at the Pacific Ocean bank of Japan. The sand hill territory measures around 0.6 km from north to south and 4.0 km from east to west. It is viewed as one of Japan's three biggest sand rise territories alongside the Tottori Sand Dunes in Tottori Prefecture and Kujyukurihama in Chiba Prefecture.
The dunes were created by residue stores conveyed from the Southern Japanese Alps by the Tenryu River into the Pacific Ocean off the bank of Hamamatsu. Ocean streams and solid breeze help bring the sand from the base up onto the shore, where the breeze always improves their shape. The hills have existed for a huge number of years, yet the zone of the ridges has been relentlessly diminishing because of ious dams based on the Tenryu River for hydroelectric power age and water system.
Furthermore, solid hindrances raised to shield the drift from tidal wave and hurricane tidal surges have disturbed the streams in charge of conveying the sand to shore. The shoreline has retreated around 200 meters amid the previous 40 years. Lately, the Shizuoka prefectural government has endeavored measures to stop the shrinkage of the hills by forbidding the business extraction of sand, and by dumping sand seaward close to the ridges, and utilizing the manual evacuation of infringing verdant zones.
