About Maruoka Castle
Maruoka Castle is a hirayama fashion Japanese fort located within the Maruoka neighbourhood of the town of Sakai, Fukui Prefecture, inside the Hokuriku region of Japan. It also referred to as Kasumi-ga jo Mist Castle due to the legend that every time an enemy procedures the citadel, a thick mist seems and hides it. Built on the stop of the Sengoku length, the fort occupied by means of a succession of daimya of Maruoka Domain beneath the Edo duration Tokugawa shogunate, the site is now a public park mentioned for its sakura. Maruoka Castle became constructed by way of Shibata Katsutoyo in 1576.

After Shibata Katsutoyo died of contamination during the Battle of Shizugatake in 1583, the fortress changed into given to the Aoyama clan.
