About Marugame Castle
Marugame Castle and Horai Castle, is a hirayama shiro fortress situated on a hill surrounded by using a simple placed in Marugame, Kagawa Prefecture, Japan. The first fortifications built on the website that could later grow to be Marugame fort have been erected by using the Nara clan led by using Nara Motoyasu, who in turn have been retainers of the Hosokawa clan during the Muromachi Period. Little proof of this exists today, however. A monument through Kyoshi Takahama The roots of the modern-day fortress lie in 1587, while Marugame Castle was the house of the lord of the Sanuki Province, Ikoma Chikamasa.
In 1597, Chikamasa built Takamatsu Castle as his new area from which to rule from and grew to become Marugame Castle over to his son, Ikoma Kazumasa. Kazumasa at once began renovating the fortress, and made it into a powerful fortification. In 1615, but, because of a shogunal decree that each province may want to have but one fort, Marugame Castle was dismantled.
