About Lake Suwa
Suwa Lake is situated in Nagano Prefecture, south-east of Matsumoto is Nagano prefectures' biggest lake.
Around the shores of Lake Suwa are the four sanctum edifices that makeup Suwa Taisha Grand Shrine, one of the most seasoned and most vital Shinto places of worship in Japan.
Lake Suwa is the wellspring of the Tenryu River which streams south through Iida and is popular for its staggering canyon, where you can take a watercraft ride and be serenaded by a singing vessel woman.
The Lake is 759m above ocean level and is the 24th biggest lake in Japan with a perimeter of just shy of 16km.
It is near the noteworthy, Edo Period Nakasendo Highway and is effortlessly open via auto from Narai, Kiso-Fukushima in the Kiso Valley, Kofu and Kamikochi.
